Cytogenetics
The cytogenetics laboratory at Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network, Inc. (MPLN) provides high-quality chromosome analysis for cancer and constitutional investigations. The laboratory also specializes in molecular cytogenetic tests such as fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). This branch of cytogenetic analysis is more specific than standard karyotype analysis, enabling analysis of disease-specific abnormalities. It is offered for the detection of translocations, microdeletion syndromes, aneuploidy and marker chromosome identification.

PhD, FACMG, brings more than 20 years experience to MPLN and is well known for the characterization of the Phelan-McDermid syndrome. In addition, our highly skilled cytogenetic technologists are certified as clinical specialists in cytogenetics by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA).
