Our Laboratories
Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network, Inc. (MPLN) is a privately-held laboratory founded in 1989 by Roger Hubbard, PhD.The laboratory network is headquartered in a 26,000-square-foot facility in Maryville, Tennessee. To accommodate new technologies and equipment, a broader molecular and cytogenetic diagnostic menu, and expand research and development services, MPLN continues to grow.
In 2007, MPLN was named anchor tenant of a new 400-acre research and devlopment park in Blount County, Tennessee. MPLN plans to build a 65 to 75,000-square-foot laboratory and double its employee base within the next three to five years.
In addition to the main lab in Tennessee, MPLN has a laboratory in Richmond, Virginia, which provides enhanced turnaround times for flow cytometric STAT testing. The Virginia facility also provides additional support to MPLN by serving as a local and regional point of contact for all testing referred to the main laboratory.
In October 2005, MPLN opened Ascendant Medical Laboratory, a clinical diagnostic STAT lab to serve the local community in the greater Knoxville area. The core laboratory fully supports MPLN’s molecular diagnostics with a full clinical menu.
