Biomarkers and Targeted Drug Therapy

Companion Diagnostics uses molecular diagnostic tests to evaluate ‘biomarkers' associated with a specific drug. The drug may target a certain marker or genetic mutation associated with a patient's response. Whereas, pharmacogenetics associates drug interaction with a specific genotype and impacts treatment outcomes.
