HER2/neu Amplification and HERCEPTIN®

HER2-positive tumors have shown to benefit from Herceptin treatment. Current recommendations for HER2 testing include using FISH as a follow up for all IHC 2+ cases. It has also been determined that FISH alone, or as confirmation of a positive HercepTest (HER2 by IHC), is more cost effective than using FISH to confirm a weakly positive IHC result or using the HercepTest alone.

The CellSearch™ Circulating Tumor Cell Test identifies circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patients with metastatic breast, colorectal and prostate cancer throughout the continuum of care. CellSearch allows earlier, more accurate predictions of progression-free survival and overall survival.
