Reference Range:
Cells positive for aberrant S phase induction not detected
Indication:
Results are reviewed by a board-certified pathologist to determine if tissues are positive or negative for proteins present in aberrant S-phase activity. These results may be used to assist in determining appropriate patient therapy or treatment.
ProExC is a cocktail of monoclonal antibodies that target the Minichromosome Maintenance (MCM) and Topoisomerase II alpha (TOP2A) proteins which, when over-expressed in the cell nucleus, are indicative of disease progression caused by aberrant S-phase induction in the DNA. Human papillomavirus oncoproteins E6 and E7 bypass the critical cell-cycle checkpoints resulting in a prolonged and aberrant S-phase induction cycle. During the transcriptional activation of the aberrant cell cycle, levels of MCM2 and TOP2A proteins increase in proliferating cells.
