None
Test Synonym:
83891 – Molecular isolation
83892 x8 – Enzymatic digestion
83896 x12 – Nucleic acid probe, each
83903 x4 – Mutation scanning
83908 x4 - Amplification each sequence
83912 – Interpretation and report
Turnaround Time:
2-3 days
Methodology:
Invader™ Third Wave Technologies
Specimen Requirements:
5ml (min. 3ml) EDTA blood preferred, ACD blood accepted.
Causes for Rejection:
<3.0ml of whole blood
Improper specimen labeling
Specimen Stability:
18°-25° C for 24 hrs; 4° C for up to 4 days
Storage and Handling:
Ship at ambient temperature; if shipment delayed, store at 2–8°C and ship with ice pack (do not allow ice pack to directly contact sample)
Reference Range:
UGT1A1 *28 allele detected/not detected
Indication:
The UGT1A1 blood test is a one-time screening test for newly diagnosed colorectal patients that can provide molecular information about UGT1A1 activity, which is useful for predicting potential risk of irinotecan-induced (Camptosar®) toxicity. This information can then be used as guidance for the determination of appropriate drug dosage prior to initiation of chemotherapy.
