Board certified in clinical cytogenetics and a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Genetics in clinical cytogenetics, Dr. Dennis has more than 30 years experience in cytogenetics and medical genetics.
Dr. Dennis earned a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from Western Michigan University and doctorate in molecular biology and cytogenetics from the University of Nevada. He completed his fellowship in clinical cytogenetics at the Metropolitan Washington, DC Medical Genetics Residency Program located at the National Institutes of Health with clinical rotations at Georgetown University Medical Center.
Prior to joining MPLN, Dr. Dennis was a clinical cytogeneticist with Genzyme Genetics in Florida, the director of cytogenetics for Shodair Children's Hospital in Montana and a cytogeneticist at the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Arizona. For two years Dr. Dennis was also an associate director of the clinical cytogenetics laboratory and assistant professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Dr. Dennis has authored and co-authored several articles and abstracts with a focus on cancer cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics and genomics. He has affiliations with the American Board of Medical Genetics, the American Cytogenetics Conference and the Society for Melanoma Research.
