Director, Flow Cytometry, VA
James Hewitt is responsible for the operations of MPLN’s satellite laboratory in Richmond, Va. Hewitt joined MPLN in 1997 as a medical technologist and supervisor of the flow cytometry section of the laboratory. He became vice president of the Virginia satellite laboratory when it opened in 2002.
Prior to joining MPLN, Hewitt worked at University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in the clinical microbiology laboratory and later as the supervisor of flow cytometry and special stains in the clinical immunology laboratory. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from James Madison University and an MT from the University of Virginia.
